Back from your holiday, but the car will not start?
You have enjoyed a lovely trip away in the sunshine, landed back at Manchester Airport and collected your bags. All you want now is to get home—but your car will not start. If you suspect a flat battery, Trafford Car Recovery can help you work out the next step and discuss jump-start assistance at your parking location.

Car left parked during your trip?
A starting problem is the last thing you want after a flight, especially with luggage or family waiting. Tell us how long the car has been parked and whether it had starting problems before you travelled. We can discuss the symptoms without assuming that every airport non-start is caused by a flat battery.
What to check while you are parked
Look for dashboard messages and note whether the engine turns or you only hear clicking. Check that the key is recognised and follow the normal starting procedure in the handbook. Do not keep trying for long periods. A low battery is one possibility; the observations help us decide what assistance to discuss.
Which Manchester Airport car park are you in?
Your booking might be for a terminal car park, a meet-and-greet service or a separate off-site facility. Give the exact operator and car-park name, not just the airport or terminal. Include the level, zone, row or bay where marked, and a useful nearby sign. Tell us whether you are beside the car and who has the keys.
Parking barriers and height limits can affect access. Check any outside-assistance arrangements with the parking operator before a visit is agreed. If your vehicle is being held by a parking service, find out how it can be reached and released. We do not assume access to every restricted area.
Arrange suitable battery assistance
Call with the registration, make and model, and mention a hybrid or electric vehicle. We can discuss whether jump-start assistance is appropriate and confirm current availability and a quotation. Call-outs start from £60, with the complete price based on the actual location and requirements.
If the vehicle cannot be restarted or needs garage attention, we can discuss recovery instead. Tell us where you would like it taken and check that the destination can receive it. A successful restart does not explain every underlying fault, particularly if the problem has happened before.
A clearer route home
Keep the parking details and keys available while arrangements are agreed. If parking time or access is an issue, speak to the operator directly. Our airport car-park guide has a more detailed checklist. Trafford Car Recovery is independent and does not claim an official Manchester Airport partnership.
More than just a jump start
We use high-output portable super booster packs to get you started. Our visit also includes checking the battery and whether the vehicle's charging system is charging it properly. We investigate the likely reason for the starting problem and explain what we find.
- Battery check: assess the battery rather than assume it only needs a boost.
- Charging check: check whether the vehicle is charging the battery once it is running.
- Cause and next steps: discuss why the issue may have happened and whether to consider battery replacement or further diagnosis.
The aim is to help you leave with a clearer understanding of the fault, not simply a restarted engine. If further work is needed, we explain that so you can decide what to do next.
Help in multi-storey car parks
Parked on an upper level or behind a height barrier? Our portable super booster packs can be taken to your vehicle, even where a recovery truck cannot reach your parking level. Tell us the car park, level, bay and any access instructions so we can arrange the visit. If the vehicle needs recovery rather than a jump start, we discuss that access separately.
