Match finished at Old Trafford, but your car will not start?
You have come to Old Trafford to watch Manchester United, enjoyed the match and made your way back to the car. Now you are ready to get home, but you turn the key and there is no power—or the engine will not start. If you suspect a flat battery, call Trafford Car Recovery to discuss jump-start assistance.

A starting problem after the final whistle
With supporters leaving and traffic building, a car that will not start can make the journey home feel more complicated. You do not need to identify the fault before speaking to us. Describe what happens at the key or start button, whether the car started normally before the match and whether any warning message appears.
Simple checks while safely parked
Notice whether the dashboard lights are dim, absent or normal, and whether there is clicking or engine movement. Follow the vehicle's usual starting procedure, including any brake or clutch instruction. A lack of power may suggest a battery problem, but other faults are possible. Do not keep making prolonged starting attempts.
Where have you parked for the match?
Visitors may use stadium parking, independent matchday parking or a parking space farther away. Tell us the exact car-park name or street, operator where known, and any bay, row or entrance information. Make clear that you are near Manchester United's Old Trafford football stadium, rather than relying on “Old Trafford” alone.
On matchdays, traffic and access restrictions can affect reaching the vehicle. Follow the instructions of stewards, parking staff or police, and tell us about closed gates, controlled entrances or a car park that is emptying. We cannot promise a fixed arrival time or permission to enter every parking area. Manchester United's official travel information is the place to check the club's current access guidance.
How we can help you plan the journey home
Have the registration, make and model ready, and tell us if the vehicle is a hybrid or electric model. We discuss whether a jump start is appropriate, the access available and the quotation. Call-outs start from £60, with current estimated availability confirmed for the situation.
If the vehicle needs repair rather than battery assistance alone, we can discuss recovery to a suitable destination. If you have travelled from outside Manchester, give the actual destination so the complete journey can be assessed. Confirm who can receive the car and how the keys will be handed over.
Independent local assistance
Trafford Car Recovery is independent and is not affiliated with Manchester United or its parking operators. Call the team for help needed now; use the form for a non-urgent enquiry or a planned move.
More than just a jump start
We use high-output portable super booster packs to get you started. Our visit also includes checking the battery and whether the vehicle's charging system is charging it properly. We investigate the likely reason for the starting problem and explain what we find.
- Battery check: assess the battery rather than assume it only needs a boost.
- Charging check: check whether the vehicle is charging the battery once it is running.
- Cause and next steps: discuss why the issue may have happened and whether to consider battery replacement or further diagnosis.
The aim is to help you leave with a clearer understanding of the fault, not simply a restarted engine. If further work is needed, we explain that so you can decide what to do next.
Help in multi-storey car parks
Parked on an upper level or behind a height barrier? Our portable super booster packs can be taken to your vehicle, even where a recovery truck cannot reach your parking level. Tell us the car park, level, bay and any access instructions so we can arrange the visit. If the vehicle needs recovery rather than a jump start, we discuss that access separately.
