Ready to leave Manchester city centre, but your car will not start?
After work, a meal or a day out in Manchester city centre, you want to get in the car and head home. If the engine will not start and you think the battery may be flat, call Trafford Car Recovery. Tell us the exact parking location and we can discuss the assistance that fits your vehicle.

A city-centre non-start needs a clear location
Being close to your car does not always mean a recovery operator can reach it easily. Street parking, hotel parking and multistorey car parks have different entrances and restrictions. Describe the place where the vehicle is parked, rather than only the restaurant, office or venue you have visited.
Useful checks without leaving the driver's seat
Look for dashboard messages and notice whether the engine turns, clicks or stays silent. Check that the key is recognised and follow the starting procedure in your handbook. If it will not start, avoid prolonged repeated attempts and tell us what you observed. The cause may be the battery or another fault.
Car-park and street details to give us
For a car park, provide its exact name and operator, entry street, level, bay or row, and any height limit. A vehicle under a low ceiling may need a different access plan from one on an open surface car park. Check outside-assistance arrangements with the operator if required.
For street parking, give the street name, direction or side where useful, and a nearby building number or landmark. Tell us about controlled access, a gated courtyard or anything preventing another vehicle reaching you. A location pin can support the description but may not show the correct entrance.
Arrange jump-start help or the next recovery step
Provide your registration, make and model, and explain whether it is a hybrid or electric vehicle. Mention repeated starting trouble or a recent repair. We can discuss whether battery assistance is suitable and confirm a quotation and current estimated availability.
Call-outs start from £60. If the fault cannot be addressed with a jump start, we can discuss recovery to an agreed destination. For restricted parking or wheels that will not roll, give us those details early so the loading requirements can be assessed.
Before a garage transfer
Confirm that the garage can receive the vehicle and explain how the keys will be handed over. If a visit can be planned for another time, the enquiry form can be used for the details. For assistance needed now, telephone the team rather than waiting for a written response.
More than just a jump start
We use high-output portable super booster packs to get you started. Our visit also includes checking the battery and whether the vehicle's charging system is charging it properly. We investigate the likely reason for the starting problem and explain what we find.
- Battery check: assess the battery rather than assume it only needs a boost.
- Charging check: check whether the vehicle is charging the battery once it is running.
- Cause and next steps: discuss why the issue may have happened and whether to consider battery replacement or further diagnosis.
The aim is to help you leave with a clearer understanding of the fault, not simply a restarted engine. If further work is needed, we explain that so you can decide what to do next.
Help in multi-storey car parks
Parked on an upper level or behind a height barrier? Our portable super booster packs can be taken to your vehicle, even where a recovery truck cannot reach your parking level. Tell us the car park, level, bay and any access instructions so we can arrange the visit. If the vehicle needs recovery rather than a jump start, we discuss that access separately.
